Climbing Skills

Learning to climb for the first time or seasoned veteran I have a course for you. I hold the highest level award available for rock climbing in the UK and have been climbing for more than a decade. During that time I’ve picked up many hints and tips from people as well as learnt the hard way. These climbing skills courses allow you to short cut to that knowledge and improve your climbing.

Don’t see the course your looking for? why not contact me to arrange a bespoke course just for you.

What climbing skills are covered?

From the basics such as belaying and tieing in right through to ironing out technique errors I run a range of courses to cover all aspects of climbing.

Why me?

As well as being highly qualified I’m also a passionate climber. I’ve led traditional climbs up to E4, sport climbs up to 7a+ as well as having many long adventurous climbs in the UK, Alps and further afield. This breadth of experience over more than a decade has allowed me to learn lots of techniques and tactics which I can pass on. All my courses run at low ratios and are flexible to ensure I meet your needs and help you towards your goal; whether that’s touching rock for the first time or climbing your dream route. I also offer a price match promise to ensure you get good value not just top quality instruction.

Where should I choose for my climbing course?

I run courses through out the UK. below are some details of the great venues you might find yourself at.

North Wales

This is a traditional climbing mecha. With plenty of history and climbs of every grade it’s a location where there’s something for everyone. Crag names such as Gogarth, Dinas Cromlech, and Clogwyn Du ‘Arddu conjure up images in the mind of the great climbing pioneers. What better location to choose.

Lake District

With arguably Britain’s first climb (Napes Needle), The Lakes has something for everyone. Roadside crags in Borrowdale provide challenges of all grades while the big mountain crags of Scawfell and Bowfell have classic climbs on everyone’s tick lists. Climb here and you’ll see why all the locals think it’s the best climbing in the UK.

Scotland

This should really be more than one entry it has so many great crags. You can be sure to find atmosphere aplenty here, from giant sandstone mountain cliffs to old seaside gneiss there’s something for everyone. Not to mention scope for exploration and mountaineering. Visit Scotland to have a real adventure.
